Cookies and device storage used by the KUBO website, MyKUBO, Educator Portal and KUBO Play.

Marketing website

Cookies and local storage let a website save small pieces of information in your browser. This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies, load tracking pixels or embed third-party video players. Our fonts, videos and form spam check are self-hosted.

When you dismiss the cookie notice, we save a first-party local storage entry named kubo-cookie-notice. It contains the notice version and dismissal time, so we can remember that you have closed it for 180 days. It contains no unique visitor ID, is not sent to our server and is used only to remember this setting. An expired or outdated entry is removed when you next visit.

Your controls

There are currently no optional cookies to accept or reject. Closing the notice records only that you have dismissed it; it does not give consent to tracking. Use Cookie information in the footer to reopen it at any time.

You can remove the stored setting using your browser’s site-data controls. If browser storage is blocked, the website still works, but the notice may appear again when you visit another page. If JavaScript is disabled, no notice setting is saved and this page remains available.

Educator Portal

The Portal uses browser storage to sign you in, complete school sign-in, remember your selected workspace and language, and retain interface preferences. These entries are separate from the marketing website’s cookie notice. Closing that notice does not authorise optional storage in another service.

  • Sign-in: portai_token and portai_student_token in local storage hold educator and student credentials. The corresponding sign-out action removes the token; local storage has no automatic browser expiry. Signing out does not delete server-side accounts or learning records.
  • School sign-in cookies: where enabled, classlink_state or clever_state protects the sign-in flow for up to five minutes; classlink_reboot or clever_reboot prevents redirect loops for up to two minutes. These cookies are also cleared as the flow completes.
  • Temporary sign-in steps: session storage holds portai.student.classCode, portai.student.additionalIcons and, for external-app authorisation, portai_oauth_request. Entries are cleared as the flow completes or with the tab’s session; the authorisation request is treated as expired after 15 minutes.
  • Workspace and language: portai.userId, portai.selectedSchoolId, portai_active_partner and portai_language remember the account, selected organisation and language in local storage.
  • Interface choices: portai.onboarding.v1, portai.onboarding.ui.v1, portai.onboarding.serverSync.v1, portai.dashboard.welcome.dismissed.v1:… and portai_access_mode_… remember onboarding, dismissed help and classroom access-mode choices. These local entries have no automatic expiry; they remain until overwritten, removed by the app or cleared in your browser.

Clear the Portal’s site data in your browser to remove stored entries. This can sign you out and reset preferences, but does not delete school records. On a shared device, sign out when finished. School sign-in providers and payment checkout can use their own cookies when you use those services; their notices apply to that processing.

KUBO Play

The Portal supplies a session credential to start the game. The game uses session information to request access, load content and save progress. The browser may cache downloaded game files, including in browser-managed storage, to avoid downloading them again. Cache lifetime depends on the browser, build and available space; you can clear it through site-data controls. Native versions may similarly retain downloaded files in app storage.

Gameplay progress and activity records sent to the game server are described in the Play privacy section. Clearing a browser cache or uninstalling the app does not delete these server records. We distinguish game operation and educational records from optional advertising or cross-site tracking; a cookie-notice dismissal is not consent to the latter.

MyKUBO

MyKUBO does not use account cookies or advertising trackers. Its fonts are bundled locally. Wireless device permissions are managed by iOS or Android, separately from browser cookies. Robot settings and counters remain on the robot as explained in the MyKUBO privacy section.

External services

External sign-in, checkout and partner websites have their own storage practices. Necessary sign-in storage is distinct from optional tracking. If optional tracking is introduced, the relevant service must provide any required choice before it starts.
